Molly & Tom’s Lakefront Celebration in Wisconsin
Set against the calm blue waters of Lake Delevan, Molly and Tom’s wedding weekend at Lake Lawn Resort felt like something out of a Midwest storybook — elegant, relaxed, and filled with personal touches that made guests feel right at home.
The couple, both Chicago natives, dreamed of a “mini destination” celebration — a getaway that didn’t require a plane ticket, but still felt like an escape. Guests traveled just a few hours north to Wisconsin for a lakeside weekend of love, laughter, and live music that perfectly blended timeless romance with local charm.
The weekend began with a traditional Catholic ceremony at St. Peter’s Church in East Troy, where Molly walked down the aisle in a soft satin gown surrounded by a color palette of burgundy, blush, and cream. From there, everyone gathered at Lake Lawn Resort for cocktails by the water, dinner in the grand ballroom, and dancing late into the night.
A Weekend to Remember
Every detail was curated to feel effortless yet elevated. I managed the guest list from start to finish — from invitation design and RSVPs to hotel blocks and room attrition — ensuring every guest was comfortably settled for the weekend.
The outdoor cocktail hour was pure magic: friends of the bride and groom serenaded guests with acoustic covers of favorites by Charles Wesley Godwin and The Red Clay Strays, setting a laid-back, soulful tone before the Blue Water Kings Band took the stage later that night.
Dinner was followed by dancing under soft lights and the sounds of live horns and guitar, with guests slipping out to The Lookout Bar & Eatery for late-night drinks overlooking the lake. For those staying the weekend, the Calladora Spa offered a little post-celebration relaxation.
Design & Atmosphere
The design aesthetic leaned into soft textures and feminine fall tones — think velvet table runners, chiffon accents, and satin ribbons paired with romantic florals in warm, moody hues.
Lighting was everything: candles flickered on tabletops while strands of market lights reflected off the lake, casting a golden glow over guests in the evening air. Photographer Natalie Rose captured the night in a documentary style — candid smiles, quiet moments, and all the natural beauty of the lakeside setting.
To end the evening, the newlyweds made their exit in a vintage getaway car, waving to guests as music floated through the night — a perfect punctuation to a weekend that felt equal parts joyful and intimate.
